Cang Logo Design For A Theme Inn
Cang Logo design for a theme Inn is an exemplary visual identity system created by Chinese designers Ming Mao and Dabin Yao, embodying sophisticated Oriental aesthetics and cultural symbolism. This comprehensive logo design project, completed in 2016, represents a distinctive approach to hospitality branding through its innovative three-tier system corresponding to different accommodation levels: luxury (Cang Cyan), deluxe (Cang Green), and comfort (Cang Red). The design's conceptual foundation draws from Chinese ancient poetry, where Cang signifies collection or concealment, perfectly aligning with the inn's positioning as an urban sanctuary. The visual language employs minimalist architectural elements, incorporating vertical lines that suggest structural forms while thin, extending lines create window-like apertures. Each tier features unique cultural motifs: water waves for the luxury level, bamboo for the deluxe category, and plum blossoms for the comfort tier, all executed with careful attention to Zen principles and eastern aesthetic sensibilities. The design's technical specifications accommodate various applications, from small-format items (17mm x 10mm) to large-scale architectural implementations (1.7m x 1m), produced through four-color screen printing and embroidery techniques. This sophisticated visual identity system, which won an Iron A' Design Award in the Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design category in 2017, demonstrates exceptional achievement in bridging traditional Oriental artistry with contemporary design principles, creating a visual narrative that effectively communicates the establishment's commitment to tranquility and refined hospitality.
