Cafe Amoy All Day Dining is an innovative interior design project that exemplifies the harmonious fusion of natural elements and contemporary architectural aesthetics in hospitality spaces. Located in the coastal city of Xiamen, this 670-square-meter restaurant accommodating 250 seats masterfully integrates the region's rich natural and cultural heritage into its design concept. The space is distinguished by its signature white floating boxes featuring undulating surfaces that extend from the ceiling to the walls, creating an abstract interpretation of ocean waves, caves, and mountainous landscapes characteristic of Xiamen's topography. The design, conceived by Japanese architect Ryoichi Niwata, employs a carefully curated material palette consisting of white oak, two varieties of stone (brown and white), and white paint, creating a sophisticated minimalist backdrop that emphasizes the sculptural architectural elements. The restaurant's innovative operational flow is centered around a migratory long table serving as a buffet counter, which deliberately blurs the traditional boundary between kitchen and dining areas to foster intimate guest-staff interactions. The interior's artistic expression is further enhanced through the strategic use of green fabrics and floral patterns in the furniture, complemented by various planters that introduce fresh natural elements against the geometric white surfaces. This exceptional design, which garnered a Gold A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, represents a significant achievement in contemporary hospitality design, successfully transforming local cultural and natural elements into an immersive dining environment that functions both as a practical restaurant space and an artistic installation.
