C1 Credenza

C1 Credenza

C1 Credenza is an innovative furniture piece that exemplifies the harmonious fusion of traditional craftsmanship and contemporary technological advancement, designed by Marcus Friesl. This sophisticated storage solution, measuring 2134mm in width, 407mm in depth, and 661mm in height, showcases exceptional engineering through its distinctive floating design achieved by a thin metal shell that provides comprehensive structural support without requiring central reinforcement. The credenza's most notable feature is its self-supported cross-plate system beneath the drawers, enabling an uninterrupted span that creates an elegant, suspended appearance. Distinguished by its emotive precision, the design incorporates embedded handles within the top metal shell, maintaining a clean, uncluttered facade while seamlessly integrating functionality into its form. The piece demonstrates remarkable attention to detail in its construction, particularly in the precise alignment of wood and metal components at folds and bends, requiring exceptional coordination among various manufacturers to maintain strict tolerances. Winner of the prestigious Golden A' Design Award in the Furniture Design category in 2013, this credenza represents a significant achievement in contemporary furniture design, combining aesthetic refinement with innovative structural solutions. The design philosophy behind the C1 Credenza emphasizes minimalist elegance while maintaining practical functionality, creating a piece that is both contemporary and timeless in its appeal.
