C Major Residential

C Major Residential is an award-winning interior design project that masterfully integrates classical architectural elements with contemporary living spaces, spanning 154 square meters of thoughtfully curated residential space. The design, conceived and executed by Hsu-Hsin Cheng, draws inspiration from Bach's unaccompanied cello pieces in C major, translating the musical composition's calm and quiet resonance into a physical environment that harmoniously blends luxury with tranquility. The project, completed in January 2022, features innovative use of stainless steel to minimize beam joints, complemented by Morandi color palettes and natural plaster tones that create an atmosphere of refined elegance. The space encompasses a balcony, living room, dining room, and a flexible layout of three-plus-one rooms, including a convertible study that doubles as a guest room. Notable design elements include tawny glass ceiling treatments in the dining and study areas, linear lighting solutions that effectively eliminate the visual bulk of structural elements, and sophisticated material combinations of leather, transparent glass, and mirror elements. The design's architectural vocabulary pays homage to Baroque-era aesthetics, particularly evident in the micro-circular ceiling details inspired by classical vault designs. The project, which earned recognition with an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, demonstrates exceptional spatial planning through its innovative solutions for challenging structural elements and its seamless integration of functionality with aesthetic refinement.
