Booster Seats
Booster seats are specialized car seats designed for children who have outgrown their forward-facing car seats but are still too small to use a regular seatbelt. Booster seats work by lifting the child up so that the seatbelt fits properly across their chest and hips, reducing the risk of injury in the event of a crash. Booster seats are typically used for children between the ages of four and eight, or until they are tall enough to sit with their back against the vehicle seat and their knees bent over the edge of the seat. Booster seats come in a variety of styles, including high-back and backless models. High-back booster seats provide additional support for a child's head and neck, which can be important in the event of a side-impact crash. Backless booster seats are typically less expensive and more portable than high-back models, but may not provide as much protection in a crash. Some booster seats also come with additional safety features, such as side-impact protection or energy-absorbing foam. When choosing a booster seat, it is important to consider the child's weight, height, and age, as well as the type of vehicle they will be riding in. Booster seats should always be used in the back seat of the vehicle, and the seatbelt should be threaded through the appropriate guides on the booster seat to ensure a proper fit. It is also important to follow the manufacturer's instructions for installation and use, and to replace the booster seat if it is involved in a crash or shows signs of wear and tear.
