Inspired by futuristic science fiction narratives, particularly the concept of digital escapism, this sophisticated gaming venue features six distinct rooms arranged around a central public area, where structural elements are transformed into aesthetic features through the creative integration of original building pillars with modern design elements. The space employs extensive use of perforated aluminum plates to establish its primary aesthetic character, complemented by dynamic LED lighting systems that can adapt to various atmospheric requirements. The design philosophy centers on providing an escape from everyday reality, offering users a transitional space between the physical and virtual worlds. Notable architectural elements include the innovative treatment of existing structural pillars, which extend into varied geometric configurations that seamlessly connect with suspended lighting fixtures and gaming stations. This thoughtful integration creates a cohesive and multifaceted spatial experience. The project, completed in 2018 in Foshan, Guangdong province, successfully balances operational efficiency with aesthetic excellence, demonstrating particular innovation in its approach to space utilization and ambient lighting design. The design earned recognition with a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, acknowledging its contribution to advancing the gaming venue typology through its sophisticated interpretation of virtual reality themes in physical space.
