Bain Shelf Wall Shelf

Bain Shelf Wall Shelf

Bain Shelf Wall Shelf is an innovative architectural furniture piece that exemplifies minimalist design principles through its sophisticated wireframe construction and integrated lighting system. Originally conceived as part of a custom kitchen installation, this wall-mounted shelving solution addresses the challenge of creating strong horizontal lines in spaces with complex architectural constraints. The design features a precise 12x12mm steel frame profile that appears to float against the wall, complemented by natural oak shelves that provide both functionality and aesthetic warmth. The shelf's distinctive characteristics include concealed fasteners, integrated LED lighting that creates both upward and downward illumination, and a remarkably thin frame structure that reduces visual mass while maintaining structural integrity. Standing 12 inches tall, 12 inches deep, and approximately 24¾ inches wide, the shelf system demonstrates exceptional versatility in both residential and commercial applications. The design, which won a Bronze A' Design Award in the Furniture Design category, showcases remarkable attention to detail in its engineering, particularly in the integration of non-directional lighting that enhances the floating effect and creates ambient illumination by reflecting light off the wall surface. The natural oil-finished laminated oak shelves provide a durable surface capable of supporting substantial weight while maintaining a refined appearance, making it particularly suitable for display purposes, kitchen storage, or retail environments.
