Authentic Eden Residence
Authentic Eden Residence is a meticulously renovated residential project located in Taichung, Taiwan, exemplifying innovative spatial design solutions within existing architectural constraints. Designed by Wei-Tong Chen in 2019, this 198-square-meter villa transformation demonstrates exceptional prowess in optimizing living spaces through strategic architectural interventions. The project's primary focus was to address the challenges of a thirty-year-old structure positioned at the community's periphery, where public area accessibility posed significant concerns. Through thoughtful redesign, the project introduced a revolutionary approach to space utilization by converting the former garage into a new primary entrance, effectively resolving long-standing accessibility issues. The interior underwent a dramatic transformation through the removal of restrictive walls between the kitchen, living room, and dining areas, creating a fluid, open-plan living space that enhances family interaction and spatial flexibility. The integration of French windows establishes a seamless connection between indoor and outdoor spaces, while the carefully curated color palette of gray and white introduces a sense of warmth and order. The design's sophisticated approach to spatial organization, combined with the installation of artistic elements and landscaping, creates a harmonious balance between functionality and aesthetic appeal. The project, which earned a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, showcases exceptional innovation in residential renovation through its thoughtful consideration of human-space relationships, sustainable design practices, and the enhancement of quality of life for its occupants.
