8 Tickets Wine
8 Tickets Wine is an innovative packaging design concept that revolutionizes the traditional wine bottle presentation by incorporating an interactive metro-themed experience aimed at younger consumers. This Bronze A' Design Award-winning design, created by Juan Manuel Rodríguez Prous and team in Toledo, Spain, transforms the conventional wine packaging paradigm through its unique integration of metropolitan transit imagery and participatory elements. The design features a distinctive visual system that employs metro line representations to illustrate various consumption contexts and social situations, effectively decontextualizing public transportation imagery to create an engaging narrative around wine consumption. The packaging's dimensions of 85mm x 85mm x 300mm accommodate not only the wine bottle but also incorporate an ingenious interactive element: a 297mm x 210mm map and 69mm x 100mm stickers that enable consumers to document and memorialize their wine-drinking experiences. This design solution addresses the challenge of connecting with younger demographics in a market saturated with over 20,000 competing products in Spain alone. The packaging's innovative approach includes a game mechanism integrated into the bottle's reverse side, allowing users to create and preserve memories of their consumption experience through drawing, writing, or applying stickers. Developed between October 2016 and March 2017, the project emerged from extensive user research, including focus groups and journey mapping, to identify key consumer insights and intervention points. The production process involves careful material selection, precision printing on polar white paper, and meticulous assembly of multiple components including labels, maps, and stickers. This design exemplifies how strategic packaging innovation can transform a traditional product category by creating an engaging, memorable user experience that resonates with contemporary consumers while maintaining the product's premium positioning.
