3M PTL Kit Educational Kit

3M PTL Kit Educational Kit is an innovative educational resource designed to enhance children's understanding of eye care and lighting technology, developed under the creative direction of Lawrens Tan and designer Phoebe Chang. This comprehensive kit, measuring 158mm x 210mm, represents a sophisticated approach to combining educational content with interactive elements, featuring a customizable folder system that allows young users to personalize their learning experience. The kit incorporates detailed informational sheets about eye protection and specialized lighting technology, presented through engaging visual designs that include playful rainbow motifs and child-friendly illustrations. A distinctive feature of the kit is its personalization element, where children can write their names on a designated yellow tag, creating a sense of ownership and personal connection to the educational material. The design includes a specially crafted badge measuring 58mm in diameter, which serves as both an educational tool and a social catalyst, encouraging peer-to-peer discussion about eye care practices. Developed between February and June 2014, this educational kit exemplifies excellence in communication design, earning recognition with a Bronze A' Design Award in the Advertising, Marketing and Communication Design category. The kit's contemporary approach to information dissemination combines loose-leaf technology sheets with interactive elements, making complex technical information accessible and engaging for young learners while maintaining professional educational standards. Its design philosophy centers on creating an immersive learning experience that transforms technical information into an engaging, child-friendly format, effectively bridging the gap between educational content and user engagement.
