Zen Living Residential Apartment

Zen Living Residential Apartment

Zen Living Residential Apartment is an innovative residential interior design project that masterfully integrates Buddhist worship elements with contemporary living spaces, exemplifying the principles of Zen philosophy in modern architecture. The design, created by Hong Kong-based designer Hoi Fung Cheang, places ancestral memorial tablets at the center of an open-plan layout, creating a harmonious balance between spiritual reverence and daily living. The project, completed in 2019, features a sophisticated multi-purpose area that accommodates study, meditation, and fitness activities, demonstrating exceptional space optimization. The interior's distinctive characteristics include carefully concealed storage solutions integrated into partitions and platforms, achieving both functional efficiency and aesthetic refinement. Natural materials are thoughtfully combined to create distinct zones while maintaining visual cohesion, with particular attention paid to the interplay between indoor spaces and outdoor scenery. The entrance is marked by a notable golden tunnel that creates an uplifting atmosphere for residents and visitors. The design successfully overcomes structural challenges by maintaining consistent alignment of beams and ceiling elements to preserve visual harmony. The project's sophisticated lighting design incorporates various scenarios to enhance the space's versatility and ambiance. This exceptional interior design project was recognized with an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, acknowledging its innovative approach to combining spiritual elements with contemporary living spaces while maintaining functional excellence and aesthetic sophistication.
