Yuka Shower Tray

Yuka Shower Tray

Yuka Shower Tray is an innovative bathroom fixture that exemplifies the harmonious fusion of natural elements and modern design technology, distinguished by its unique integration of wood and stone aesthetics in cast marble construction. This sophisticated shower tray, designed by Krzysztof Nowak and recognized with a Golden A' Design Award in the Bathroom Furniture and Sanitary Ware Design category, represents a significant advancement in bathroom fixture design through its innovative dolomite cover with gap outlet system. The design's distinctive features include a matt surface structure that mimics hand-brushed larch wood, creating an effective anti-slip surface while maintaining aesthetic appeal. Manufactured using advanced cast marble technology, the tray combines dolomite powder with polymer resin to achieve optimal flexibility and strength, while its outer layer consists of gelcoat with quartz particles for enhanced durability. The product's dimensions of 1200mm x 800mm x 35mm make it suitable for standard bathroom installations, while its innovative material composition allows it to absorb warmth, ensuring user comfort. The two-colored surface treatment and matt finish contribute to its versatile aesthetic appeal, making it adaptable to various bathroom design schemes. The development of this shower tray, completed in 2014, involved comprehensive research focusing on integrated outflow systems, anti-slip properties, and nature-inspired surfaces, utilizing various design thinking methodologies including mind mapping, prototyping, and scenario planning. This innovative approach to bathroom fixture design earned recognition at the A' Design Award competition, highlighting its contribution to advancing bathroom furniture design through its combination of functional innovation and aesthetic refinement.
