Yucoo Restaurant is an innovative interior design project completed in Shenzhen, China, that exemplifies contemporary spatial design principles while catering to modern youth aesthetics. The 2,150-square-foot establishment, designed by Ren Xiaoyu, represents a sophisticated blend of modern and Nordic design elements, characterized by its thoughtful integration of light blue, grey, and brass materials that create a youthful yet elegant atmosphere. The restaurant's design philosophy centers on creating an engaging spatial experience through the harmonious combination of natural and manufactured elements, as evidenced by the striking hand-woven rattan and metal chandelier that serves as a focal point, symbolizing the intersection of human craftsmanship and natural materials. The interior features carefully curated design elements, including a distinctive brass and solid wood wine rack at the entrance, while incorporating abundant circular motifs throughout the space in elements such as wall lamps, cold dishes displays, and door frames. The strategic use of green plants throughout the space introduces an element of natural comfort and casualness, while the overall color palette maintains a sophisticated yet approachable ambiance. This exceptional design approach earned the project a Silver A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, recognizing its innovative use of space, material selection excellence, and thoughtful integration of functional and aesthetic elements. The project, completed between April 2018 and October 2019, demonstrates a successful response to contemporary dining preferences while maintaining a strong focus on creating an atmosphere that resonates with young urban consumers.
