Yuanbao Street Theme Street

Yuanbao Street Theme Street is a groundbreaking Chinese-style animation theme commercial space that revolutionizes the traditional retail experience by seamlessly integrating cultural elements with contemporary design aesthetics. Located in Chengdu, this innovative 3,000-square-meter development represents a significant advancement in themed commercial architecture, distinguished by its unique fusion of local cultural motifs including Three Kingdoms references and panda imagery, specifically tailored to appeal to post-90s consumers. The design, which earned recognition with an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, features seven distinct attractions including a dock entrance, panda bazaar, water lane, waterwheel bamboo, blade stage, spirit tree, and blessing tower, each carefully crafted to create an immersive experiential environment. The architectural approach demonstrates exceptional creativity in balancing traditional Chinese architectural elements with modern exaggerated expressions, particularly evident in the treatment of roofs and tiles, while maintaining structural integrity. Completed in November 2017, the project showcases innovative spatial design through its cartoon mirror effects and super power experience zones, establishing a new paradigm in themed commercial spaces. The design successfully addresses the challenge of creating a contemporary interpretation of Chinese architecture while incorporating modern materials and structural solutions, resulting in a space that not only serves commercial purposes but also celebrates local heritage and modern animation culture.
