Yorkshire Villa Residential House

Yorkshire Villa Residential House

Yorkshire Villa Residential House is an exemplary residential architectural project completed in 2019, showcasing innovative interior spatial design that harmoniously adapts to Chongqing's mountainous topography. This four-story duplex villa demonstrates sophisticated space utilization through its unique vertical arrangement, with the main entrance positioned on the second floor to accommodate the challenging terrain. The design's most distinctive feature is its dramatic three-story vertical opening crowned by a skylight, creating a six-meter-high space that maximizes natural illumination and establishes a powerful indoor-outdoor connection. The interior architecture thoughtfully distributes living spaces across multiple levels: the ground floor connects to an outdoor garden, the second and third floors serve as primary living areas, and the basement level is dedicated to entertainment purposes. The project, designed by Kot Ge and LSDcasa, earned recognition with a Silver A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category for its innovative approach to spatial planning and resource allocation. The design philosophy emphasizes the balance between functional pragmatism and aesthetic sophistication, employing a careful selection of materials and thoughtful color schemes to create an atmosphere that reflects modern urban living while maintaining a connection to the natural surroundings. The villa's most notable achievement lies in its successful resolution of complex spatial challenges, particularly in managing light distribution and creating visual connections between different levels, resulting in a harmonious living environment that effectively bridges indoor comfort with outdoor scenic views.
