Yoga House Sustainable Building is an innovative passive solar earth shelter that exemplifies sustainable architectural design principles through its harmonious integration with the natural environment. Designed by Cuneyt Dari, this 224-square-meter structure represents a significant advancement in eco-friendly architecture, incorporating both natural and upcycled materials to create a self-sufficient living space. The building's design philosophy centers on addressing six fundamental human needs through environmentally conscious construction, featuring self-contained sewage treatment, water recycling systems, and careful terrain orientation that preserves existing trees. The structure employs prefabricated universal wooden trusses as load-bearing elements and implements a perforated deck design that minimizes environmental impact. Notable features include integrated systems for rainwater harvesting, solar and wind energy generation, and organic food production capabilities, making it largely independent of public utilities and fossil fuels. The building's thermal mass construction and natural gross ventilation effectively regulate indoor temperature, while its intentionally uncomplicated, single-story design maximizes efficiency. Winner of the Iron A' Design Award in the Sustainable Products, Projects and Green Design category, this project demonstrates exceptional achievement in sustainable architecture through its innovative approach to waste management, resource conservation, and ecological integration.
