Yi Hao Jiang Xiang Liquor Packaging

Yi Hao Jiang Xiang Liquor Packaging

Yi Hao Jiang Xiang Liquor Packaging is an innovative Chinese liquor packaging design that masterfully integrates traditional cultural elements with contemporary design sensibilities, created by designer Qi-Jun Wang. This sophisticated packaging solution, which earned recognition with an Iron A' Design Award in the Packaging Design category, exemplifies the harmonious blend of cultural storytelling and functional design. The design's visual narrative draws inspiration from the rich traditions of the Dragon Boat Festival and the historic liquor-making processes along the Chishui River in Maotai Town, China. The packaging employs a distinctive scroll-like structure that unfolds to reveal intricate landscape paintings depicting local customs, traditional wine-making techniques, and festival celebrations. Standing at 32cm in height with a width of 13cm and length of 8cm, the outer packaging utilizes hot-pressing techniques to achieve its refined aesthetic, while the bottle itself features an innovative segmented design measuring 26cm in height with a 7cm diameter. The design's cultural significance is particularly evident in its representation of the crucial Zhi Qu process, a vital step in traditional Chinese liquor production that coincides with the Dragon Boat Festival. This thoughtful integration of cultural elements creates an emotional resonance with consumers while maintaining practical functionality, demonstrating how packaging design can serve as a medium for cultural preservation and storytelling.
