Wu Gift Packaging is an innovative luxury packaging design solution created for high-end tea vessels, exemplifying the harmonious fusion of traditional Chinese cultural elements with contemporary design aesthetics. This sophisticated packaging system, developed in Fuzhou, China during 2018-2019, features a distinctive dark green color scheme accented with autumn hues, creating an atmosphere of stability and refinement. The design's most notable feature is its incorporation of brass ancient coins engraved with the classical Chinese phrase Wei Wu Zhi Zu (meaning contented people are always happy) and Long Happiness, which are elegantly suspended by decorative tassels. The packaging system, available in three dimensions (330x130x130mm, 255x130x130mm, and 180x130x130mm), utilizes premium materials including FEDRIGONI Sirio Pearl Aurum paper and Colorplan forest paper, demonstrating exceptional attention to material quality and craftsmanship. The design's cultural significance is deeply rooted in Han Dynasty coinage, reflecting ancient Chinese aspirations and philosophical values. The innovative opening mechanism, which involves a vertical sliding motion, creates a ceremonial unveiling experience that enhances the presentation of the contained silver, brass, and enamel tea vessels. This packaging design, recognized with a Silver A' Design Award in the Packaging Design Category, exemplifies excellence in combining functional efficiency with cultural storytelling, establishing new standards in luxury packaging design through its thoughtful integration of historical elements with contemporary presentation techniques.
