Willows House House is an exemplary residential architectural project completed in 2019, showcasing a harmonious blend of modern design principles and natural integration. Located in North London, this 350-square-meter family residence demonstrates sophisticated spatial organization through its innovative response to site constraints and environmental considerations. The structure's distinctive trapezoid footprint, dictated by the plot's irregular shape, features a narrower entry facade that gradually widens toward the north-facing garden, where two mature willow trees serve as natural focal points. The architectural composition is characterized by its minimalist modern language, with a defining sculptural element in the form of an elegant curved white wall that not only creates visual interest but also serves the practical purpose of managing the sloping terrain to provide a level lawn area. The house's internal layout prioritizes transparency and spatial fluidity, beginning with a cavernous entrance space that immediately communicates the building's functional organization. Constructed using blockwork and steel structure on a concrete base slab, the four-bedroom residence exemplifies thoughtful material selection and structural integrity. The design, conceived by Rado Iliev and executed in collaboration with executive architects, earned recognition with a Silver A' Design Award in the Architecture, Building and Structure Design category in 2020, acknowledging its exceptional contribution to residential architecture through its innovative use of space, aesthetic refinement, and successful integration with its natural surroundings.
