White Mountain Club House

White Mountain Club House is an innovative architectural masterpiece that seamlessly integrates landscape and structure, located in the Xuanwu District of Nanjing, China. This 2,000-square-meter community clubhouse, designed by Kris Lin and Anda Yang, represents a groundbreaking approach to urban architectural integration, drawing inspiration from the surrounding rolling hills and natural landscape features including Zijin Mountain and Hongshan Forest Zoo. The design philosophy centers on diminishing the building's perceived solidity by creating a fluid connection between surficial landscape and underground spaces, effectively reducing urban environmental interference while maintaining spatial continuity. The structure employs Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete (GRC) as its primary building material, chosen for its exceptional plasticity that enables the creation of smooth, undulating curves that characterize the building's distinctive aesthetic. The project, completed in August 2020, addresses complex architectural challenges through innovative solutions for underground lighting and seamless ground-to-underground circulation. As a transportation hub with underground passages connecting to surrounding communities and a future underground station, the clubhouse serves as a vital community nexus designed to foster social interaction and family relationships. The project's exceptional integration of form and function earned it the Platinum A' Design Award in the Architecture, Building and Structure Design category, recognizing its outstanding contribution to architectural innovation and urban spatial harmony.
