White Curve Residence

White Curve Residence

White Curve Residence is an award-winning residential interior design project completed in January 2023 in Hsinchu City, Taiwan, crafted by designer Yi-Lun Hsu to accommodate a young family consisting of a couple and their toddler within an 85-square-meter space. The design's distinguishing feature is its innovative ceiling composition of intersecting curved lines that create a sense of fluidity and spatial liberation, effectively countering the spatial constraints typically associated with compact living spaces. The interior aesthetic is characterized by a sophisticated earth-tone palette, combining light wooden elements with coffee and light orange accents against a pristine white backdrop, creating a harmonious and serene living environment. The design incorporates several ingenious solutions to spatial and feng shui challenges, including a strategically positioned dressing room partition wall in the master bedroom and a concealed bathroom door clad in light-colored wood. The living area features a sophisticated TV wall with an integrated sliding door cabinet system, allowing for complete concealment of the television when desired. The kitchen space demonstrates practical innovation through its two-line countertop design and sliding doors for fume control, while the entrance area utilizes grey-totemed tiles and a full-length mirror to create an effective transition space and enhance spatial perception. The project, which earned recognition with an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, exemplifies a thoughtful balance between functional necessity and aesthetic refinement, incorporating natural elements and optimizing air circulation to create a spiritually nurturing living environment.
