West Lake Wetland Residential Villa

West Lake Wetland Residential Villa

West Lake Wetland Residential Villa is an exemplary residential architectural project that masterfully integrates contemporary design principles with traditional Oriental aesthetics, earning recognition with a Golden A' Design Award in Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category. This innovative residential space represents a sophisticated response to modern urban living challenges, characterized by its seamless integration of indoor and outdoor environments through thoughtful spatial planning and material selection. The villa's design philosophy centers on creating a meditative atmosphere that provides refuge from urban complexity, achieved through the implementation of warm color tones, white marble, and wood veneer finishes. Notable architectural features include the extension of courtyard paving materials into interior spaces, enhancing the connection between nature and living areas, while a distinctive long bar and bookshelf system unifies the tearoom and video room, exemplifying the project's emphasis on spatial continuity. The design demonstrates particular sensitivity to its occupants' cultural backgrounds, incorporating elements that reflect both Chinese cultural heritage and natural motifs, interpreted through a minimalist modern Oriental design language. The villa's spatial organization is distinguished by its innovative approach to seamlessness, where ceiling, wall, and floor elements are conceived as a unified whole while maintaining distinct characteristics through carefully selected materials and design techniques. Completed between 2018-2019 in Zhuhai, Guangdong, the project showcases exceptional attention to dimensional precision, featuring carefully specified elements such as 900mm x 900mm cement bricks and 800mm x 800mm marble tiles that contribute to its refined aesthetic composition. The villa stands as a testament to how contemporary residential architecture can successfully balance functionality with spiritual and emotional considerations, creating a living environment that transcends conventional interior space paradigms.
