We Transforming Circular Economy Exhibition
We Transforming Circular Economy Exhibition is a groundbreaking sustainable exhibition design that exemplifies the principles of circular economy through its innovative approach to temporary exhibition spaces. Created by designers Daisuke Nagatomo and Minnie Jan, this transformative installation spans an impressive 1,123 square meters and demonstrates how exhibition design can minimize environmental impact while maximizing educational value. The exhibition's architectural framework employs the Infinity Shelf system, achieving nearly 90 percent recyclability, with all display materials and fabrics designed for second-life applications after the exhibition's conclusion. The space is thoughtfully organized into seven thematic zones exploring crucial sustainability topics: Food, Product Life Cycle, New Business Models, Fabric, Architecture, Infrastructure, and Sustainable Lifestyle. The visitor journey begins in a dramatic dark space illuminated by LED strip lighting, leading to a distinctive blue-walled area featuring an undulating white ceiling. This Silver A' Design Award-winning project, recognized in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, challenges conventional exhibition design practices by prioritizing waste reduction and material reuse. The exhibition's conceptual framework positions sustainability not as a theoretical construct but as a collective choice, emphasizing the dual role of humans as both producers and consumers in shaping sustainable futures. Through its careful material selection, modular component design, and innovative construction methods, the exhibition serves as a physical manifestation of circular economy principles, demonstrating how temporary installations can be both impactful and environmentally responsible.
