We Runners Training Hall is an innovative architectural and interior design project that exemplifies the harmonious integration of sports facilities with natural surroundings, completed in 2018 in Beijing. This 3,300-square-meter facility, designed by Changming Wang and team, represents a sophisticated approach to modern training spaces, featuring a distinctive single-slope roof design that seamlessly merges with its green environment along the Wenyu River. The project's architectural composition deliberately responds to the existing park infrastructure, with its entrance form and overall spatial structure determined by the internal road network. The facility incorporates thoughtful design elements including leisure spaces beneath extended eaves, strategic pool placements, and carefully planned lawn areas that effectively manage visitor flow. The interior design, spanning 1,700 square meters, showcases a masterful combination of materials including steel, red brick, glass curtain walls, plastic flooring, and anticorrosive wood, creating an environment that balances functionality with aesthetic appeal. The design's emphasis on environmental integration is particularly evident in its use of glass curtain walls that frame water features while maintaining visual harmony with the surroundings. The project, which earned a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, demonstrates exceptional consideration for sustainable design practices through its innovative blend of natural and artificial lighting, creating an energy-efficient and human-centric space that serves both sports enthusiasts and children.
