Water Bay 1979 Club Office
Water Bay 1979 club Office is an innovative interior design project that exemplifies the harmonious fusion of contemporary art and functional commercial space, situated within a complex community in China. This sophisticated 1,050-square-meter space serves dual purposes as both an exhibition hall and a property sales office, distinguished by its thoughtful integration of artistic elements and practical functionality. The design, conceived and executed by Yu Qiang and Mao Hua, features a striking 8.2-meter-high raised floor configuration that creates an immediate visual impact upon entry. The interior's material palette demonstrates exceptional refinement, incorporating champagne gold brushed stainless steel, fluorocarbon-painted iron plates, BOLON carpeting, and gradient cement fibrolite plates, all working in harmony to create a cohesive aesthetic experience. The reception area, characterized by its innovative use of whitened suitcases and white-painted old wood boards, establishes a welcoming atmosphere that balances unsophisticated simplicity with modern sophistication. The space earned recognition with a Silver A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, acknowledging its outstanding contribution to innovative spatial design. The project's artistic vision draws inspiration from Vincent van Gogh's philosophy about art's immortality through human understanding, manifested in the Journey Over the Clouds concept that guides the overall design approach. Notable features include ethereal pendant lighting, color-transitioning carpet patterns, and sophisticated mosaic designs in auxiliary spaces, all contributing to a gradual visual transformation throughout the environment. The design successfully creates an avant-garde atmosphere that appeals particularly to younger generations through its incorporation of Pop Art elements, while maintaining professional functionality as a commercial space.
