Warp and Woof Tea Table is an innovative furniture design that seamlessly blends Persian cultural elements with contemporary interactive functionality. Created by German designer Omid Mohammadi, this distinctive tea table features 154 small green marble pieces that can be dynamically arranged on the table surface, allowing users to personalize and transform the pattern at will. The design draws inspiration from the traditional Persian Gabbeh textiles historically used to cover the Korsi table during Yalda nights, a significant cultural celebration marking the winter solstice. The table's construction demonstrates sophisticated engineering, comprising three separable metal frame pieces that house the marble elements, which are organized into five base modules. The deliberately neutral gray base structure serves to emphasize the matte finish and distinctive Persian green marble texture, while the thin linear metal framework creates engaging light effects on the surrounding surface. The table, measuring 450x900x900 millimeters, represents a harmonious fusion of cultural heritage and modern design principles, recognized with an Iron A' Design Award in the Furniture Design category for its innovative approach to material use and cultural relevance.
