Warm Sunlight Residence

Warm Sunlight Residence

Warm sunlight Residence is an award-winning interior design project that exemplifies the harmonious integration of functionality, aesthetics, and comfort in residential spaces. Located in Taichung City, Taiwan, this 50-square-meter residence, designed by I-An Chi and Li-Ting Chen, masterfully combines natural elements with innovative storage solutions to create a welcoming living environment. The design's centerpiece features a distinctive TV wall adorned with two-tone honeycomb-style bricks, including 12 unique pieces that add visual interest and personality to the space. The extensive use of wooden flooring throughout both public and private areas creates a seamless, natural atmosphere, while hexagonal brick elements provide textural contrast and visual intrigue. Notable design elements include an eye-catching tea table resembling white pottery, a log dining table, and thoughtfully integrated storage solutions in the foyer ceiling and elevated floor. The living and dining areas showcase a versatile layout, with glass windows and adjustable curtains allowing the washitsu to transform into a guest room when needed. The design demonstrates exceptional space optimization through its L-shaped couch placement and strategic hallway design that effectively delineates public and private zones. This residential project, which received an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, represents a sophisticated approach to contemporary living spaces that prioritizes both functionality and aesthetic appeal while incorporating elements of Taiwanese natural character and topographical elements.
