Wang Residence Residence

Wang Residence Residence

Wang Residence Residence is an award-winning residential interior design project completed in July 2017 in Taichung City, Taiwan, encompassing 140 square meters of living space that masterfully balances contemporary aesthetics with personalized design elements. The project, designed by Jao-Wen Chao, demonstrates a sophisticated approach to modern living spaces through its thoughtful integration of geometric patterns, luxurious materials, and innovative spatial planning. The design concept centers around a gray color palette that emphasizes the raw beauty of materials while incorporating striking elements such as a diamond-inspired geometric ceiling design and magnificent marble walls with 3D surfaces. The residence features a distinctive foyer that creates a clear transition between outdoor and indoor spaces through geometric shapes and strategic lighting. Notable design elements include Turkish blue leather walls adorned with recessed illuminations, Hermes silk muffler wall decorations in the dining area, and Philippe Starck's Louis Ghost chairs that contribute to the boutique-style atmosphere. The living room showcases a harmonious blend of contemporary furniture, including a statement red Ligne Roset sofa and a sophisticated grey couch, while the dining area employs clever design techniques such as stylish ceiling treatments and mirrors to minimize the visual impact of structural columns and create an enhanced sense of space. This exceptional interior design project was recognized with an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category in 2018, acknowledging its innovative approach to residential design and its successful integration of fashion-forward elements with practical living solutions.
