Wanda Reign On The Bund Hotel

Wanda Reign On The Bund Hotel

Wanda Reign on the Bund Hotel is a distinguished architectural masterpiece that exemplifies the harmonious fusion of Art Deco aesthetics with contemporary luxury hospitality design. Located in Shanghai's historic Bund district, this exceptional hotel project seamlessly integrates classical architectural elements with modern sophistication, earning recognition through a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category. The exterior design pays homage to the classical Art Deco architecture characteristic of the Bund area, while the interior spaces showcase lavish ornamentation featuring bold geometric shapes, incorporating cultural elements of old Shanghai such as magnolia motifs. The design employs a sophisticated gray color palette accented by contrasting shades of fiery red, elegant blue, and metallic gold and bronze finishes, creating a cohesive aesthetic that resonates with the Art Deco period. A notable feature of the interior design is the collaboration with over 60 artists to create 89 bespoke artworks, strategically placed throughout the hotel's spaces, effectively transforming the venue into an artistic sanctuary. The decorative elements include carefully crafted pilasters with flowing lines and metallic screens adorned with symmetric patterns, all contributing to an immersive atmosphere that transports guests to Shanghai's golden age of the 1920s and 1930s. The project's success lies in its meticulous attention to detail, from the custom-designed Art Deco-inspired furniture and lighting fixtures to the thoughtful integration of traditional Chinese artistic elements within the contemporary luxury hotel context.
