Wallich Showflat

Wallich Showflat

Wallich Showflat is an exemplary residential interior design project located on the 60th level of Singapore's tallest building, embodying a sophisticated fusion of botanical inspiration and contemporary living spaces. This 117-square-meter, two-bedroom apartment, designed by Ck Low, masterfully translates the concept of a castle in the clouds into a tangible living environment, drawing inspiration from its namesake botanist Nathaniel Wallich and the surrounding architectural heritage. The design philosophy emphasizes the interplay between natural light and spatial composition, featuring full-height windows that span the apartment's length, creating an ethereal atmosphere that blurs the boundary between interior and sky. The thoughtfully curated light color scheme amplifies the abundant natural illumination, while strategic dark-toned materials define distinct zones without physical barriers, demonstrating sophisticated space planning. Notable design elements include gentle curves throughout the interior that create a nurturing atmosphere, metaphorically embracing the occupants while softening the overall spatial experience. The project, which earned a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, showcases exceptional sustainability considerations through its careful material selection and retention of existing elements where possible. The design employs cost-efficient, locally sourced materials and practical solutions, such as high-pressure laminates, ensuring durability while maintaining aesthetic excellence. Completed in December 2021, this showflat represents a harmonious balance between luxury, functionality, and environmental consciousness, setting a new standard for high-rise residential interior design in Singapore.
