Walk Of Mind Shoes is an innovative footwear design concept that pioneers hybrid fabrication methodology, seamlessly integrating modern digital technology with traditional craftsmanship. This groundbreaking design, created by Hadar Slassi, introduces a novel approach to shoe construction through its distinctive strata compound method, which reimagines the conventional hierarchy of shoe layering. The design process begins with personal customization utilizing digital foot scanning technology, enabling precise adaptation to individual foot morphology. The shoes comprise five distinct strata, three of which are designed using sophisticated Rhino software and Grasshopper code, subsequently manufactured through Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) using Nylon 12 polymer. These technologically advanced components are harmoniously combined with traditionally wet-molded, vegetable-tanned leather elements, resulting in a unique geometric locking system enhanced by hand-stitching. This innovative approach reduces leather usage by approximately 80% while maintaining structural integrity through its skeletal design. The project, which earned a Golden A' Design Award in the Footwear, Shoes and Boots Design category, draws inspiration from Judaic studies of shoes and feet, reflecting a deep connection between spiritual and earthly elements.
