Wabi Sabi Elegance Residence

Wabi Sabi Elegance Residence

Wabi Sabi Elegance Residence is an award-winning interior design project that exemplifies the harmonious fusion of contemporary minimalism with traditional Japanese wabi-sabi aesthetics, completed in January 2023 in Taiwan. Located on the 11th floor of a 15-year-old apartment building, this 115.7-square-meter renovation project encompasses four bedrooms, a living room, a dining room, and two bathrooms, transforming the space through thoughtful architectural interventions and design elements. The project's core philosophy centers on four fundamental principles: harmony, respect, purity, and tranquility, manifested through sophisticated curved elements, strategic lighting, and a refined material palette. The design overcomes inherent structural challenges, such as low ceilings and numerous beams, through innovative solutions including contrast-based height manipulation and rounded design elements. The interior features a predominantly cream-colored scheme complemented by premium materials including Korean artificial stone, European floor tiles, and specially treated aluminum frames with dual-finish properties. Notable design elements include the transparent glass facade between the study and living room, an open-plan kitchen configuration that facilitates dual-balcony airflow, and strategic use of black mirrors and subway tiles as accent elements. The project, which earned a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, demonstrates exceptional spatial planning through its innovative use of curved elements, sophisticated lighting design, and thoughtful integration of functional zones that cater to the diverse needs of a family of four while maintaining aesthetic coherence and visual flow throughout the space.
