Virtue Exhibition Space
Virtue Exhibition space is an innovative interior design project that exemplifies the harmonious integration of storytelling and spatial design, created by designer Li-Yu Chen. This 200-square-meter exhibition space, completed in 2014 in Taoyuan City, Taiwan, demonstrates a sophisticated approach to commemorative architecture through its thoughtful incorporation of symbolic elements and interactive features. The space's design philosophy is anchored in the principle that the atmosphere inspires, and the space speaks, utilizing architectural elements to narrate historical narratives through spatial experience. The entrance features aesthetically crafted wooden elements symbolizing book pages, complemented by an automatic door system that creates a metaphorical unfolding of history. The interior is masterfully segmented by page-style display boards that divide the space into two distinct areas, enhanced by innovative book-form illuminations in the ceiling that symbolically bridge past and present. The exhibition space showcases personal artifacts, including a desk, chair, and handwritten text, creating an intimate connection with visitors. The design earned recognition with an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, acknowledging its excellence in spatial innovation and narrative integration. The space's success lies in its ability to create an immersive environment where architectural elements, lighting, and display techniques work in concert to deliver a compelling historical narrative while maintaining functional efficiency and aesthetic sophistication.
