Villa Troy Residential House

Villa Troy Residential House

Villa Troy Residential House is an innovative residential architectural project that masterfully blends contemporary design with mythological inspiration, located in the outskirts of greater Nicosia, Cyprus. Designed by architect Renos Constantinou, this 340-square-meter private residence draws its conceptual foundation from the legendary city of Troy, paying homage to its owners' names, Paris and Helen. The structure's distinctive design features include a sophisticated stone-clad loadbearing wall on the façade and property enclosure, symbolically referencing the ancient walls of Troy, while five ornamental metal brackets on the façade echo the angular forms of Trojan war spears. The house's spatial organization follows an irregular L-shape configuration, incorporating a harmonious blend of indoor and outdoor spaces through strategically placed verandas and gardens. The interior layout centers around a double-height vestibule, which serves as the core connecting the open-plan ground level's lounge, living, and dining areas. Notable design elements include a three-sided glass-enclosed fireplace that functions as a spatial divider, ceramic tile cladding emulating fair-face concrete, and Calacatta marble-inspired floor tiling throughout the ground level. The building's architectural composition prioritizes natural ventilation and lighting through its strategic placement and large openings, establishing a strong indoor-outdoor connection. This Iron A' Design Award-winning project in the Architecture, Building and Structure Design category demonstrates exceptional attention to sustainable design principles, incorporating photovoltaic panels and zero-energy efficient systems, while maintaining a strong commitment to Mediterranean architectural traditions and contemporary luxury living standards.
