Villa Riviera Residential House

Villa Riviera Residential House

Villa Riviera Residential House is an exemplary residential design project located in Shanghai, China, encompassing 380 square meters of thoughtfully crafted living space that masterfully integrates natural lighting, artistic expression, and sophisticated interior design elements. The residence, completed in 2018, demonstrates exceptional spatial planning through its innovative use of skylights, transparent glass walls, and wooden partitions that create dynamic interplay between light and shadow throughout the seasons. The design philosophy emphasizes the harmonious connection between natural elements and modern living spaces, particularly evident in the basement's transformation where structural limitations were overcome to incorporate natural lighting and ventilation. The interior aesthetic is characterized by a refined color palette of neutral tones, predominantly featuring gray and black in the living areas, complemented by custom hand-made carpeting that adds vibrant visual elements reminiscent of water bubbles. The project's sophisticated approach to spatial organization is exemplified by the central island that seamlessly connects with the dining area, while the bedroom spaces evoke a resort-hotel atmosphere through modern leisure aesthetics and natural elements. Designed by Willie Zhang and Lin Sheng, the project showcases meticulous attention to functional, emotional, and ornamental values, creating a cohesive visual narrative that earned recognition with a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, acknowledging its outstanding contribution to residential architecture and interior design.
