Villa Gilbam Residential House is an innovative residential architectural project located on the slopes of northern Iran's Siahkal region, exemplifying a harmonious blend of contemporary design principles with environmental consciousness. The structure, designed by architect Davood Boroojeni, features a sophisticated composition of three interconnected volumes strategically positioned to maximize spatial efficiency and panoramic mountain views. The design demonstrates exceptional architectural ingenuity through its minimal ground contact approach, utilizing a foundational footprint of just 8 × 15 meters while achieving a total living space of 350 square meters through the implementation of cantilevered volumes. The villa's distinctive design incorporates two console volumes that slide over each other at different heights, creating an intricate interplay of spaces that ensures optimal natural lighting and unobstructed views in both northern and southern directions. The project, completed in 2016, showcases remarkable attention to material authenticity, employing exposed materials to create an indigenous aesthetic while minimizing environmental impact. The heart of the building features a shared central space that serves as a focal point, offering extraordinary views of the surrounding mountainous landscape. This Bronze A' Design Award-winning project exemplifies excellence in architectural innovation through its thoughtful consideration of spatial quality, local architectural traditions, climatic conditions, and material expression, while successfully addressing complex geometric and topographical challenges presented by its 750-square-meter sloped site.
