Villa Atlas Summer Villa
Villa Atlas Summer Villa is a distinguished subterranean residential complex situated in the picturesque natural harbor of Sivota on Greece's Lefkada Island, exemplifying a harmonious blend of minimalist architecture, sustainable design, and luxurious living. Designed by Vasilis Siafaricas and completed in 2022, this innovative project, which earned a Bronze A' Design Award in the Sustainable Products, Projects and Green Design category, comprises a sophisticated 250-square-meter main villa positioned just 30 meters from the ocean. The villa's architectural composition features austere lines, green roofs, and expansive windows that maximize natural light while maintaining environmental consciousness. The property's thoughtful design incorporates two atriums, four bedrooms with en suite bathrooms crafted from premium Carrara, Vratsa, and Mugla marbles, and an impressive L-shaped swimming pool adorned with fiber optic lighting arranged to represent the Pleiades asterism—a creative homage to its mythological namesake, Atlas. The development showcases exceptional technical innovation in subterranean construction, particularly in addressing challenges of rocky terrain, oceanfront positioning, and complex insulation requirements. Notable features include three-meter-high ceilings, energy-efficient glass panels, heat pumps, and A-plus aluminum frames, all contributing to its low energy consumption profile. The interior spaces are meticulously crafted with high-grade materials, including R9 granite tiles for indoor areas and R11 for outdoor spaces, complemented by state-of-the-art thermal facades and individualized climate control systems. This award-winning project stands as a testament to sustainable luxury architecture, successfully overcoming significant engineering challenges while maintaining an environmentally conscious approach to modern residential design.
