Vibes Office Lobby and Cafeteria is an award-winning architectural interior design project that exemplifies contemporary workplace design through its innovative approach to spatial transformation and brand identity integration. This comprehensive renovation project, designed by Daisuke Nagatomo and Minnie Jan, encompasses three levels of a high-end information technology company's facility, spanning approximately 2,001 square meters across basement, first, and second floors. The design concept draws inspiration from the flow of digital information, manifesting through fluid architectural elements and thoughtful material selection. The space features digitally milled wood louvers in the lobby's vertical areas, creating a distinctive visual rhythm that reinforces the design's dynamic character. The material palette combines glass, stone, ceramics, and wood, with careful attention to creating different atmospheric qualities throughout the spaces. The basement cafeteria emphasizes comfort through warmer wood tones, while the lobby and upper floors maintain a more corporate aesthetic with the strategic use of the company's signature blue as an accent color. The design successfully addresses the challenge of renovating a thirty-year-old structure while creating a contemporary workspace that promotes productivity and well-being. The project, which was completed in 2019 and received an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, demonstrates exceptional spatial planning through its open-plan layout that facilitates communication between floors.
