Veizla Side Table Side Table

Veizla Side Table Side Table is an innovative furniture piece that exemplifies the harmonious fusion of mid-century modern aesthetics with contemporary design sensibilities. Created by Danish designer Per Ploug, this sophisticated side table features a distinctive tripod base configuration that employs the same angular principles and splaying technique as its companion piece, the Veizla Dining Table, resulting in a formal yet playful stance. The table's most striking feature is its unique top design, which masterfully combines an equilateral triangle with a circular form, creating an organic shape that both facilitates and encourages social interaction when positioned between seating arrangements. Crafted from solid wood, the table demonstrates exceptional versatility in its construction, accommodating various material options for the tabletop, including lacquered wood, laminates, stone, and glass. With dimensions of 750mm in width and depth, and a height of 540mm, the table maintains optimal ergonomic proportions for comfortable reach while seated. The design, which earned recognition with an Iron A' Design Award in the Furniture Design category in 2018, showcases a thoughtful approach to both form and function, particularly evident in its ability to complement various interior settings, whether positioned between easy chairs or as a standalone piece. The table's development, completed in 2017, represents a natural progression in furniture design, emphasizing both aesthetic appeal and practical functionality while maintaining a strong connection to Danish design traditions.
