Vanke Design Commune Auditorium is an innovative architectural and interior design project located in Shenzhen, China, that exemplifies contemporary spatial design through its distinctive floating path concept and multifunctional public spaces. The auditorium, spanning 2,582.78 square meters, features a remarkable steel-structure corridor that appears to levitate within the full-height front hall, creating a unique three-dimensional garden touring experience for visitors. This Bronze A' Design Award-winning project, designed by Wang Jingjing, successfully transforms traditional circulation patterns by integrating a suspended pathway that winds from the entrance to the main auditorium space, effectively overcoming the challenge of poor accessibility between floors while concealing necessary infrastructure within its elegant design. The space incorporates natural plants and dedicated resting areas beneath the floating path, establishing a harmonious balance between functionality and aesthetics. The design's innovative approach extends to its versatile programming, featuring an independent watching area above the auditorium that doubles as a tea service space, enabling the venue to serve multiple purposes from conferences to film screenings. Through careful material selection, including the strategic contrast between concrete and metal elements, the design achieves a sophisticated architectural expression that enhances the community-oriented nature of the space while providing enhanced opportunities for design firms and individuals to collaborate, display work, and engage in meaningful discourse.
