Vanke City Signage is an innovative urban wayfinding system that exemplifies the integration of modern design principles with functional urban infrastructure. Created by designer Yongan Zhou in 2020, this comprehensive signage system employs ultra-white tempered glass panels measuring 600mm in width, 10mm in depth, and 2200mm in height, establishing a sophisticated visual communication network within an expanding urban development. The design philosophy centers on three key concepts: sharing, communication, and interaction, utilizing pixel trend elements and pure modular forms combined with vibrant colors to create a highly recognizable brand value image system. The signage system's distinctive feature lies in its innovative use of materials, particularly the ultra-white tempered glass panels that seamlessly blend with the surrounding landscape while effectively conveying information. Under natural sunlight, the white information text integrates with the background, achieving a subtle yet functional presence that respects the purity of the urban environment, including walls, flora, and spatial elements. This thoughtful approach to environmental integration demonstrates a sophisticated understanding of contemporary urban design principles, earning the project a Bronze A' Design Award in the Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design category. The project, completed between September and December 2020 in Yantai, represents a significant advancement in urban wayfinding design, successfully addressing the challenges of regional connectivity while maintaining aesthetic harmony with the surrounding environment.
