Van Der Vein Residential House

Van Der Vein Residential House

Van der Vein Residential House is an exemplary residential interior design project that masterfully combines natural marble paneling with contemporary architectural elements, earning recognition with a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space and Exhibition Design category. Created by designers Hsin-Ting Weng and Shih-Ting Hsu, this 131-square-meter residence showcases an innovative approach to luxury living through its sophisticated integration of classic materials and modern aesthetics. The design's cornerstone feature is its distinctive use of natural marble, particularly Grigio carnico and white Cherokee marble, arranged in various geometric patterns including chevron and linear configurations. The space demonstrates exceptional material artistry through its careful juxtaposition of traditional stone elements with color-gilded stainless steel trims, creating a harmonious balance between classical elegance and contemporary sophistication. The interior's open-concept layout maximizes natural light interaction, allowing sunlight to create dynamic interactions with the carefully selected materials throughout the day. Notable design elements include a striking white Cherokee marble wall in the dining area featuring a chevron pattern, contrasted by a square-debossed patterned wall behind the living room sofa. The methodical arrangement of Grigio carnico marble in linear formation extends from the entrance to the television wall, incorporating a seamlessly integrated stainless steel hidden door and LED-illuminated display shelving. This thoughtful integration of materials and forms creates a space that achieves luxury without ostentation, emphasizing the natural beauty of stone veining while maintaining a minimalist sensibility that reflects contemporary design principles.
