Valley House Residential Apartment

Valley House Residential Apartment

Valley House Residential apartment is an innovative residential design project located in Jardines Lookout, Hong Kong, that exemplifies sophisticated multi-generational living within a 2,500 square foot space. The apartment, which received recognition with an Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space and Exhibition Design category, masterfully addresses the complex challenge of housing three generations under one roof while maintaining both privacy and social connectivity. The design's centerpiece features a social island bar crafted from white marble, incorporating a bio fuel fireplace beneath artwork, serving as a multifunctional gathering space that seamlessly connects the lounge and open kitchen areas. A distinctive green feature wall, inspired by the surrounding topography, runs from the entry foyer through the dining space and living areas, doubling as a high-density storage solution for antiques and daily necessities. The private quarters are thoughtfully separated by a timber-lined corridor with concealed doors leading to bedroom suites, effectively creating the impression of independent studio apartments within the larger residence. The master bedroom suite showcases sophisticated design elements, including a glass-enclosed bathroom with a custom Japanese tub and a wooden staircase leading to a converted attic study. The project demonstrates exceptional spatial planning through its use of frameless glass partitions, strategic layout optimization, and careful material selection, creating distinct atmospheric zones while maintaining overall design coherence. This residential solution, completed in 2016, represents a significant achievement in contemporary urban living, particularly addressing the unique challenges of multi-generational cohabitation in dense urban environments.
