USB Computer Security Key

A USB computer security key, also known as a security token or a hardware token, is a physical device that is used to authenticate a user's identity when logging into a computer system or accessing secure information. It is a form of two-factor authentication, which means that the user must provide two forms of identification in order to gain access to the system. The first form of identification is typically a password or PIN, while the second is the USB security key. The USB security key works by generating a unique code that is sent to the computer system when it is plugged in. This code is then compared to a code that is stored on the system, and if they match, the user is granted access. Because the security key is a physical device, it is much more difficult for hackers to steal or replicate than a password or PIN. There are several different types of USB security keys available, including those that use smart card technology, biometric authentication, or one-time passwords. Some USB security keys also include additional features, such as encryption or the ability to store digital certificates. Overall, a USB computer security key is an effective way to enhance the security of a computer system and protect sensitive information from unauthorized access. It is particularly useful in environments where multiple users have access to the same system or where there is a high risk of cyber attacks.
