Urbrew FirstWort001 Craft Brew Package

Urbrew FirstWort001 Craft Brew Package

Urbrew FirstWort001 Craft Brew Package is an innovative packaging design that exemplifies the fusion of contemporary visual aesthetics with motorcycle culture, created by Chinese designer Grantz Zhu in collaboration with Sola Wang and Ma deqiang. The design's distinctive feature is its strategic use of visual elements that create a compelling narrative around road culture, particularly through the implementation of an orange line motif and license plate imagery that pays homage to motorcycle heritage. The package's vertical structure has been thoughtfully engineered to convey a sense of speed and movement, while its dimensions of 24mm x 7mm x 7mm ensure practical functionality. The design philosophy embraces the Superflat aesthetic movement, departing from traditional craft beer packaging conventions by employing a minimalist approach characterized by bold, clean lines and striking visual impact. This revolutionary approach to craft beer packaging demonstrates a sophisticated understanding of visual communication, where the orange line and cut-edged shoulder create an iconic presence that resonates with contemporary consumer sensibilities. The design successfully balances aesthetic innovation with cultural resonance, incorporating Chinese character symbolism where the characters for First Wort and Road share the same form, creating an intelligent visual wordplay that enriches the overall design narrative. The package earned recognition with a Bronze A' Design Award in the Packaging Design category, acknowledging its contribution to advancing packaging design through its innovative approach to visual storytelling and cultural integration.
