Urbanization Aerobic Commuter Train is an innovative transportation solution designed to address the challenges of urban mobility and environmental sustainability in modern cities. This forward-thinking concept, created by designer Xiting Zhao and team in 2018, represents a significant advancement in sustainable urban transit systems. The design features a modular vehicle system measuring 1490mm x 1650mm x 1950mm, equipped with advanced L4 autonomous driving capabilities and a new energy power system. The vehicle's distinctive characteristic lies in its adaptable carriage design, which can be configured for either single or double occupancy, functioning seamlessly as both a personal vehicle and a component of rail transit infrastructure. The system employs cutting-edge stereo vision and GPS technology, incorporating selective optimal driving behavior algorithms to maximize efficiency. A notable design feature is the removal of traditional steering controls, maximizing passenger space and enhancing the user experience. The vehicle's environmental impact is minimized through an advanced exhaust treatment system that converts harmful emissions (CO, HC, and NOx) into non-toxic substances like CO2, H2O, and NOx. This innovative project, which earned a Bronze A' Design Award in the Futuristic Design category, introduces a shared mobility concept where users can access vehicles through a mobile phone-based location system after paying a deposit. The design effectively addresses multiple urban challenges, including air pollution, traffic congestion, and the need for flexible transportation options, while promoting an environmentally conscious lifestyle through its aerobic commuting approach.
