Upcycled-Saree Collection Furniture is an innovative sustainable furniture design series that transforms discarded Indian silk sarees into sculptural seating options, combining cultural heritage with environmental consciousness. This collection, which earned recognition with an Iron A' Design Award in the Sustainable Products category, represents a significant advancement in sustainable furniture design by repurposing traditional Indian textiles that would otherwise end up in landfills. The collection encompasses multiple series including the Royal Indian Turban (Pagri) Series, Pompom Series, Bindi (Dot) Series, and Chamki (Braided) Series, each drawing inspiration from distinct elements of Indian cultural adornments and traditions. The furniture pieces are meticulously handcrafted, combining upcycled silk sarees with locally sourced Indian woods such as Mango and Acacia, featuring innovative construction techniques that allow for flat-pack capability and easy maintenance through zipper closures in poufs. The collection's dimensions vary across different pieces, with poufs ranging from 375mm to 425mm in height and 450mm to 500mm in diameter, while stools maintain consistent dimensions of 350mm diameter and 500mm height.
