Unintentional Private Residence is an innovative architectural and interior design project that reimagines conventional residential spatial organization through a revolutionary approach to functional zoning and user experience. Completed in November 2023 in Zhengzhou, China, this 660-square-meter residence exemplifies a forward-thinking design philosophy that breaks away from traditional living space configurations. The project's distinctive feature is its intelligent box design concept, comprising three layers stacked and rotated to create an interwoven spatial structure that enhances dimensional complexity and variability. The design employs a sophisticated material palette including concrete, art paint, marble, stainless steel, and silver mirror, creating a harmonious blend of textures and surfaces. Notable for its user-centric approach, the residence incorporates multifunctional spaces such as adaptable bathrooms, multiple kitchen and dining areas, dedicated pet zones, and flexible fitness spaces, all thoughtfully integrated to maximize utility and comfort. The project's innovative spatial arrangement, recognized with a Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail and Exhibition Design category, demonstrates exceptional creativity in addressing future living requirements through its non-traditional layout and intelligent space utilization. The design successfully challenges conventional residential architecture by implementing rotating zigzag structures and creating tension-filled spaces that respond dynamically to user needs, while intelligent lighting systems in the basement regulate pedestrian flow and enhance the overall living experience.
