Umbu Ajustable Desk Lamp

Umbu Ajustable Desk Lamp

Umbu Adjustable Desk Lamp is an innovative lighting fixture that exemplifies the fusion of Brazilian craftsmanship with contemporary design principles, distinguished by its sophisticated triple articulation system and thoughtful material selection. Created by designer Juliana Bertolucci, this desk lamp represents a harmonious blend of functionality and aesthetic refinement, featuring a uniquely engineered movement mechanism that allows for smooth, continuous adjustments in multiple directions. The design incorporates premium materials including brass, metal, Brazilian solid wood, and granite stone, emphasizing both durability and tactile pleasure in its user experience. The lamp's distinctive features include a stem that rotates bilaterally while adjusting inclination angles, complemented by a reflector capable of diverse positional movements. Standing at 35 centimeters in height with a 75-centimeter length and 11-centimeter diameter, the lamp accommodates a GU10 LED dichroic bulb for optimal illumination. The design philosophy prioritizes both mechanical simplicity and structural integrity, resulting in a lighting solution that combines ergonomic functionality with artistic elegance. This remarkable achievement in lighting design earned recognition with a Silver A' Design Award in the Lighting Products and Fixtures Design category, acknowledging its exceptional contribution to the field of contemporary lighting design. The lamp's development involved extensive research into friction reduction between components, achieving an optimal balance between controlled movement and fluid articulation, while its handcrafted elements showcase the value of traditional production techniques in modern design applications.
