Tutu Lighting Product

Tutu Lighting Product

Tutu lighting Product is an innovative lighting fixture that draws inspiration from the delicate petals of dahlia flowers and the graceful form of ballet tutus. Designed by Japanese designer Hiroki Takada, this sophisticated illumination solution represents a harmonious blend of natural elements and artistic expression. The design features multiple cylindrical forms crafted from Japanese translucent synthetic paper, each suspended from a white aluminum fitting using distinctive red polymer strings. The intricate arrangement of these cylinders creates a dynamic visual composition that captures the essence of both botanical and theatrical influences. Available in multiple dimensions to suit various spatial requirements, the fixture comes in large (700x700x400mm), small (550x550x390mm), and wall-mounted (550x350x450mm) variations. The design's unique structural approach allows light to filter through multiple paper cylinders from a single source, creating an ethereal, multi-layered illumination effect. The name Tutu cleverly references both the Japanese word for cylinder (Tutu) and the ballet costume, reflecting its dual cultural inspiration. This Silver A' Design Award-winning creation in the Lighting Products and Fixtures Design category demonstrates exceptional innovation in combining traditional Japanese materials with contemporary lighting solutions, while successfully addressing the challenge of balancing delicate aesthetics with structural integrity. The design's ability to enhance modern spaces with its flower-like presence showcases its versatility as both a functional lighting solution and an artistic installation.
